About HKIDA

Chairman Message

Hong Kong Interior Design Association has been developing in Hong Kong and expanding into the Asia-Pacific region for over thirty years from the time of its establishment. Since its inception, HKIDA has played a pivotal role in promoting excellence in interior design and fostering professionalism within the industry.

I am truly honored to serve as the chairperson for the new 2025/26 term. The executive committee of HKIDA is committed to preserving the core values and esteemed traditions of the Hong Kong interior design industry. We encourage stakeholders from all sectors, including practitioners, academics, students, suppliers, the public, and the government, to recognise and appreciate the significant role of professional interior designers. Our proposed initiatives for the upcoming two-year term include:

  • Organizing the Gala Dinner for the Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA)
  • Arranging Hong Kong Institute of Interior Designers (HKIID) courses
  • Advancing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs and the certification system for Certified Interior Designers (CID)
  • Launching the Student Ambassadors Programme and offering Scholarship Programme for students
  • Hosting special projects including the Hong Kong Interior Design Week (HKIDW), exchange programmes with mainland cities, and East Gathering
  • Giving back to the community as the role of Interior Designer

The Hong Kong interior design industry will continue to pursue excellence and strive for progress in a rapidly changing environment. We will maintain our collaboration with international organizations, such as the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) and the Asia Pacific Space Designer’s Alliance (APSDA), to establish effective communication platforms. Finally, to promote innovation, build connections, and enhance our community.

We look forward to embracing greater challenges ahead, injecting new vitality into the Hong Kong interior design industry, and allowing it to thrive in a diverse environment!
