April 2015 HKIDA Happenings HKIDA participated in the Singapore Expedition 2015 Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations organized a Singapore Expedition which took place from 10 - 14 March 2015. We were glad to have HKIDA Executive Committee Members, Antony Chan, Joey Ho, Margaret Lai and Po Po Leung as representatives to participate in the visiting tour.     The focus of the Expedition was to investigate into the landscape and ecology of design of our neighboring city, study how government support and policies in neighboring city help nurture design talents. The participants had a meeting with the representatives from Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore, visited Fifty Years of Singapore Design, where showcasing the tribute to the country’s 50 years of independence, highlighting how design has evolved and contributed to the nation’s economy and to making Singapore a design hub.       The representatives learned more how the growth of design and innovation foster creative development in the country by visiting SingaPlural 2015. SingaPlural 2015 was the anchor event of the Singapore Design Week and was held in conjunction with International Furniture Fair Singapore 2015/32nd ASEAN Furniture Show, The Décor Show 2015 and Hospitality 360º. It featured exhibitions that showcase the best of design covering a wide range of creative fields - advertising, architecture, urban planning, interior, furniture, graphic and fashion design.
