APIDA has been a driving force to discover and recognize interior design talents in Asia Pacific for 21 years, and has become one of the most renowned industry awards in recent years. Supported by local and international interior design masters as judges, with vigorous screening and intensive adjudication, the award is now a benchmark of achievement to many young interior designers, and is widely celebrated by top interior design brands. The gala dinner brings interior design professionals together in a celebration of the creative spirit of interior design, and serves to propel the industry forward.
This year, the APIDA received nearly 600 submissions from the Asia Pacific regions including those from the Mainland, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Over the past 20 years, APIDA had witnessed the evolution of the design evolvement in the Asia Pacific Region. Entries from various different countries demonstrate significant and encouraging improvement in the quality of interior design throughout the region. Surely, APIDA has become a very important platform for honoring outstanding design achievements and thereby encourages excellence in all facets of interior design. PROFESSIONAL GUIDELINE FOR THE HONG KONG INTERIOR DESIGN INDUSTRY – EDUCATION & PRACTICE
|
From September to November, 2013, the research team for the Hong Kong Interior Design Professional Guideline project held a total of 14 focus group meetings with over 60 interior design practitioners, educators and students from various levels of experiences and backgrounds to hear their views on the skills and knowledge that Hong Kong interior design practitioners are required to possess, as well as the syllabus of different levels of interior design academic programs. In addition to focus groups, questionnaires were sent to practitioners, educators and students to ask them to validate a list of skills and knowledge referenced from authoritative international sources.
The Steering Committee for this project met for the second time on 30 November and 14 December, 2013 to discuss the progress of the research team and assess the results from the focus groups and questionnaires. The results from these research and discussions will be incorporated into the Hong Kong Interior Design Professional Guideline, which is scheduled to be published in April, 2014.
