  HKIDA Master Talk draws insights from interior design leaders across the region  
  HKIDA Master Talk - the first international Interior Design Master Talk was staged in Hong Kong on 22 November 2015. This full day regional event entitled, “Interior Design Body of Knowledge”; attracted around 150 interior design practitioners, educators, students from a wide range of interior design/ architecture businesses and functions, joining from Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.  
  HKIDA Chairman, Antony Chan; Vice-Chairman, Horace Pan and six distinguished speakers, including Marc Webb of Takenouchi Webb; Colin Seah of Ministry of Design; Tihamer Salij of Space Intelligence Agency; Wang Yul Lin of Chinese Society of Interior Designers; Eisuke Tachikawa of Nosigner and Joanne Cys of University of Australia explored the insights on the evolving of interior design body of knowledge.

The Master Talk provided extensive opportunities for interior designers and students to share their own experiences and personal perspectives on the body of knowledge issues that matter in today's design world.
In addition, right after the Master Talk, there was a Student Workshop in which students from various interior design institutions collaborated on a creative project with the aim of “6 Body of Knowledge” application under the guidance of local practitioners and educators. This Master Talk was funded by the Create Hong Kong of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and well supported by the School of Design and the Jockey Club Design Institute For Social Innovation, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
  Hong Kong Interior Design Association (“HKIDA”) organized the 23rd APIDA Awards Presentation cum Gala Dinner on 23rd November 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, presented the awards of 10 categories and the very first “Best 10 Award” (the 6th - 10th place) under the witnesses of 400 guests.

The APIDA received over 650 submissions from the Asia Pacific regions including those from the Mainland, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, India and Indonesia, etc. Over the past 22 years, APIDA had witnessed the evolution of the design evolvement in the Asia Pacific Region. Entries from various different countries demonstrate significant and encouraging improvement in the quality of interior design throughout the region.

Supported by local and international interior design masters as judges, with vigorous screening and intensive adjudication, APIDA is now a benchmark of achievement to many young interior designers, and is widely celebrated by top interior design brands. The gala dinner brings interior design professionals together in a celebration of the creative spirit of interior design, and serves to propel the industry forward.
We are honored to have Mr. Timothy Fok, GBS, JP, presented at the cocktail reception and showed his support to APIDA and the interior design industry.   The Secretary for the Environment of HKSAR, Mr. K.S. Wong, JP, presented at the Gala Dinner for a speech and warm greetings to the award winners and the interior design practitioners.   Mr. Wesley Liu, Chairman of APIDA 2015 presented souvenir to the international and local judges.   We are also honored to have HKIDA Master Talk Speakers Mr. Yul Lin WANG, Mr. Tihamer SALIJ, Mr. Eisuke TACHIKAWA, Mr. Marc WEBB and Ms. Joanne CYS to participate into the APIDA Gala Dinner (L to R).

The other highlight of the night is the presentation of the “Outstanding Achievement Award” to Mr. Peter Wong, who has contributed HKIDA in organizing APIDA from the 1st APIDA to 23rd APIDA. HKIDA would like to give the heartfelt thanks to Peter on the APIDA stage.

HKIDA Chairman, Mr. Antony Chan giving the Welcoming Speech and HKIDA Vice Chairman, Mr. Horace Pan (Chairman of RIDA Project) expressed the gratitude to Create Hong Kong for supporting the development of industry in the Project Report.
