A cross-cultural event “East Gathering” with spatial design professionals from Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul gathered to present a series of design events, including forum, workshop and exhibition.

Prominent Speakers from Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong expressed their views on the relationship between cultural context and spatial expression in each city and exchange ideas on how culture affect spatial expression. Interpretation service was provided by HKIDA to enhance the communication between the speakers and the audiences. The forum attracted over 200 participants, including industry practitioners and design students.

In Hong Kong’s historic monument of Victoria Prison Compound, HKIDA held a multi-media exhibition showcasing winning awards from Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul. The exhibition displayed professional designs from different regions.
